Terms
Terms of use
These terms are between you and Genos Games (ABN 53 034 942 458), the
trading name of the game-server hosting service at genosservers.com.
They describe what you buy, how billing works, and how to cancel.
How we collect and use account data is in the
Privacy policy.
Effective 16 September 2026.
What you buy
You rent a Server: a monthly node with a plan size, a location chosen
at purchase, and the right to run a supported game on it. A Server is
created only after payment succeeds. You do not buy the hardware, a
game licence, or a per-plan disk quota. Location cannot be changed for
that Server’s lifetime.
Plans show CPU, memory, Profile capacity, and a monthly price for your
sales market. Storage is fair use. Only Available games can be
selected at checkout. In testing and Planned games are listed so you
can see what is coming; they are not for purchase.
Capacity is shared, and each tier gets proportional priority.
Billing and plan changes
Your sales market sets currency and tax. Australian prices include GST;
the amount on Plans is the amount charged, and we do not add GST again
at checkout. In other sales markets, listed prices do not include tax;
applicable tax is added at checkout.
Billing is a Stripe subscription, one per Server. Invoices and payment
methods live in Manage billing. Upgrade and downgrade happen in Genos,
only while the Server is Stopped. Stripe prorates the change: an
upgrade charges the unused-time difference now; a downgrade credits
that difference toward the next invoice. Credits are not paid out to
your card. The next Start uses the new CPU and memory limits.
If a payment is past due, the Server still runs. If Stripe marks the
subscription unpaid, Genos blocks billing on that Server and Start is
disabled until you restore payment.
Cancel, recovery, and refunds
Cancel from Manage billing. Stripe schedules cancellation at the end
of the paid period. Until then the Server still runs and you can still
Start it. You can keep the Server and undo a scheduled cancel from
Plan and billing.
When the paid period ends, Stripe stops the subscription. The Server
is Stopped for seven days. You cannot Start or change it. You can
export saves and reactivate billing during that window. After seven
days we remove the Server. Profiles stay in your library.
Cancel at period end does not create a Stripe refund. You already paid
for that period and can use it until it ends. The only automated
credit is a plan-change proration, which Stripe applies to the next
invoice rather than returning to your card. Discord is for operational
support, not refunds.
Worlds, Profiles, and storage
Stopping a Server keeps its world. Restarting continues that world.
Profiles hold your game, configuration, mods, and saves, within the
library size shown on Plans. We aim to retain world
data while the Server exists. That is not a backup SLA. Export any
save you cannot lose, especially before a Server leaves recovery.
Persistent game data is fair use, not a billed disk amount. If usage
harms other customers, we may ask you to reduce it. You are
responsible for mods and other third-party content you add. We may
remove illegal or harmful content.
Acceptable use
You must:
- Have the right to run a dedicated server for the game you select, including that publisher’s terms.
- Keep the Server for your group. Do not resell the node or use it as unrelated infrastructure.
- Stay within the plan’s CPU and memory. Fair-use storage still applies.
- Not use the service for illegal activity, attacks on other systems, or content we are required to remove.
We may Stop a Server that breaks these rules, or if a game publisher
requires it. Repeated or serious misuse can end the subscription
without a further paid period. Unused time in the current period is
not refunded.
Availability
Hosting is best effort. We do not promise uptime, latency, or a
service level. An outage is not a breach of these terms and does not
create a Stripe refund.
Support
Discord is the support channel:
discord.gg/jQVJE8CCUE.
We do not run a public support email. Join that server if something
is wrong with billing, a world, or a Start. You must be old enough to
enter this contract in your sales market, or a parent or guardian must
accept it. Discord has its own age rules.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, Genos Games is not liable for
consequential, incidental, or indirect loss, including lost worlds,
lost play time, or lost revenue. Our total liability for a Server is
limited to the fees you paid Stripe for that Server in the 12 months
before the claim.
Consumer law
If you buy as a consumer, you may have rights under the law of your
sales market that these terms cannot exclude. Nothing in these terms
excludes guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian
Consumer Law. Billing adjustments we can make still go through Stripe.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia,
without limiting those non-excludable consumer rights.
We may update these terms as the product changes. The Effective date
on this page is the current version. Material changes will be noted in
Discord announcements.
